Robert Half is currently working with a client looking to fill a Payroll Administrator position. Our client is a well-established company in Markham with a dynamic team and a bright future.
This Payroll Administrator will be responsible in processing the full cycle of payroll, in addition to :
Responsibilities :
- Process weekly payrolls, union, non-union and salary
- Ensure all government and 3rd party payments are issued accurately, Weekly & Monthly
- Prepare weekly journal entries pertaining to payroll
- Year End balance, prepare and issue year end documentation for all provincial and federal requirements
- Review to ensure all new hire and terminations are processed accordingly
- Prepare record of employments and manual cheques, as needed
- Prepare T4s, T4As and pension adjustments for year-end balancing.
- Identify process improvement initiatives and define standards for new processes
- Act as back up for the Payroll Team
- Additional reasonable duties as assigned by the Management Team
Job Requirements :
You could be a great fit for this position if you have...
- Minimum 3 years of payroll experience in a fast-paced unionized environment
- 2 years’ experience with ADP Workforce Now
- PCP Certified or in progress
- Strong understanding of Payroll, HR, processes, and data, including CBA agreements and benefit procedures
- Effective organizational and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communications
- Ability to exercise good judgement in high pressure, sensitive situations
- Ability to meet aggressive deadlines
- Strong time management skills
- Intermediate MS Office skills
