Azran Lawyers , located in the heart of Old Montreal, is looking for a Harm Compensation Lawyer to join our team dedicated to defending victims’ rights.

This position is ideal for a lawyer who is passionate about justice and the reparation of damages suffered, whether physical, material, or moral.

You will be responsible for representing victims and accompanying them through the legal process, ensuring that they get the compensation they deserve.

This role requires great rigour, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients who are often in vulnerable situations.

Roles and responsibilities :

  • Representation of victims : To defend the interests of victims in cases of compensation for damages, including personal injury, psychological damage, and property damage.

You will have to plead on behalf of your clients in court and support them in their efforts to obtain fair compensation.

  • Assessment of damages : Analyze cases to assess the extent of the harm suffered by your clients and determine the best strategy to obtain compensation.

    • You will also need to work with experts to establish the nature and extent of the damage.

  • Drafting of legal documents : Draft claims for damages, briefs, and settlement agreements.

    • You will need to ensure that all documents meet legal standards and comply with court expectations.

  • Settlement Negotiation : Negotiate out-of-court settlements with responsible parties, while ensuring that your clients receive adequate compensation.

    • You will need to be diplomatic and tenacious in negotiations.

  • Case Management : Ensure the complete management of client files, ensuring that all documents are organized, updated, and ready for hearings or negotiations.
  • Communication with clients : Maintain regular communication with clients, keep them informed of the progress of their files and answer their questions with empathy and professionalism.

    • Requirements :

  • Experience : Minimum of 3 years of experience in injury compensation law or a related field.
  • Language skills : Fluency in French and English, with excellent written and oral communication skills in both languages.
  • Analytical skills : Ability to analyze complex situations and propose legal solutions to obtain adequate compensation for the damages suffered by your clients.
  • Personal qualities : Empathy, rigor, autonomy, and ability to work under pressure.

    • You must also have excellent listening skills and be able to handle sensitive issues with discretion.

  • Technical skills : Proficiency in technological tools for case management and legal research.
