Summary
We are looking for a Financial Controller for one of our portfolio companies. You will be leading the finance and accounting team, delivering improved financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, annual compilation engagements, and audits.
We are looking for a strategic player, with a holistic forward-looking view of the business, and an expert in financial reporting and subsequent financial result elaboration.
Your role will include, but is not limited to :
Internal Accounting Functions
- Overseeing day-to-day accounting activities such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, payroll and expenses, tax filings, including corporate income, and GST / PST / HST
- Overseeing treasury and cash management activities
- Developing, managing, and reviewing financial controls
- Developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures to improve internal controls
- Leading and developing a robust internal finance function
- Managing the compilation and review of annual financial statements
- Preparing monthly financial reporting and internal KPIs as required
- Coordinating the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and performance analysis activities
Accounting and Tax Compliance
Leading the annual financial Audit and Review engagements (ASPE), and assisting with other accounting engagements as applicableResearching technical accounting issues for compliance
Coordinating and reviewing basic tax compliance, including corporate taxes, payroll, GST and forms reportingFinancial Advisory functions
Providing key insights for business improvement for a variety of companies within the groupLeading and developing cost management and profitability improvement initiativesPreparing and presenting analyses to support senior management’s strategic decision-making processAdvise senior management on complex structuring, finance and accounting issuesRequired Skills, Knowledge or Experience
7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 5 years of Controllership experience.Knowledge of ASPE and IFRS is requiredOther financial designations are a plusExperience dealing with international subsidiaries and operations is a plusExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent attention to detailExcellent internal and external relationship management skills.Strong analytical, decision making, planning, and organizational skills.Comfortable working with autonomy and ownership in a fast-paced environment, taking the initiative to resolve issuesSalary & Benefits
