Detailed Overview
Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients / clients / residents and families :
The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Education Facilitator participates in the development of a Fraser Health (FH) wide EDI education plan, and leads the facilitation of EDI trainings.
As a resource to FH staff, the Facilitator develops and delivers a variety of workshops and training programs on EDI. The incumbent collaborates with leaders across the system to ensure appropriate staff development and participation in education initiatives to enhance their competency.
The Facilitator will work collaboratively with the Indigenous Cultural Safety Team, and other internal / external partners, to provide customized leadership support to ensure implementation and evaluation of new learning into practice.
This also requires the ability to facilitate and contribute to developing the curriculum required for the training to improve the competencies of the FH workforce.
Responsibilities
- Participates in the development of educational tools, curriculum, instruments, and guidelines for achieving and maintaining inclusive practices and behaviors throughout the continuum of health services.
- Provides organization-wide EDI education planning and program-specific training that supports FH's commitment to deliver services in a manner that is Equitable and Inclusive.
- Organizes and facilitates EDI education events in collaboration with local, internal and external partners.
- Effectively facilitates dialogue, identifies potential crisis responses, assesses situations and manages conflict within an emotionally-charged and cross-racial dynamic utilizing specialized skills and knowledge.
- Leads the identification of needs and development of resource materials to ensure appropriate staff development and participation in EDI education and awareness-raising initiatives within FH.
- Acts as a resource to FH staff by coaching, mentoring, providing subject matter expertise, and making recommendations on EDI related issues that arise.
- Collaborates with FH colleagues in other programs, provincial Health Authorities, government partners, and EDI community partners.
- Provides progress updates related to organizational targets for staff training and education to leadership.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelors Degree in Adult Learning or a related discipline.
Three (3) to five (5) years of recent, related experience in coaching, mentoring, training, conflict resolution, and provision of facilitation of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion related trainings, including education plans, evaluation, and reporting.
Familiarity with Universal Design Principles, Gender-Based Analysis (GBA), Trauma and Resilience Informed Practice, and Cultural Safety and Humility in educational programming is an asset.
