The Faculty of Human & Health Sciences represents an exciting opportunity for a Dean to lead faculty, staff and students through visioning and strategic planning that will continue UNBC’s success for years to come.

With goals to increase undergraduate and graduate student numbers, fundraising, and research success, this is a time of ambition and forward-thinking at UNBC.

The Faculty includes an innovative and exciting diversity of disciplines, including psychology, social work, nursing, education, and health sciences.

Reporting to the Provost, the new Dean provides overall strategic leadership and direction to Faculty on all undergraduate and graduate academic programs, experiential learning opportunities, and pathway initiatives across northern British Columbia and beyond.

The Dean is responsible for ensuring a high-quality educational experience for UNBC students throughout the region and supports the growth of the faculty and staff.

The ideal candidate will be an accomplished scholar appointable as an Associate or Full Professor at UNBC within one of the five disciplines in the Faculty.

With passion and commitment to advancing the excellence of research and education in the Faculty, the Dean will bring outstanding skills as it relates to leadership, communications, and relationship building to be highly effective in this role.

Based in B.C.'s northern capital, Prince George, site of UNBC’s largest campus, is a city of 86,000 people with impressive cultural, educational, and recreational amenities in the beautiful landscape of northern British Columbia.

In accordance with BC’s Pay Transparency Act, the expected base salary range for this role is between $185,000 - $205,000 per year, plus pension and benefits.
