Job Description
Osler has embarked on two redevelopment projects – one at Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness and the other at Brampton Civic Hospital. Osler also has other small Ministry capital projects and own-funds projects in progress. Working within the Capital Development Department, the Project Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of the implementation of the minor capital projects and report directly to the Senior Project Manager, Operational Space Planning and Projects.
Accountabilities :
- Support the Senior Project Manager(s) with the day-to-day activities associated with the implementation of the redevelopment project, including liaison with hospital user groups, hospital management, design team, contractor, municipality, William Osler Health System Foundation, Infrastructure Ontario, Ministry of Health capital team and other stakeholder groups to ensure the project remains within developed project parameters
- Implement or support Senior Project Manager(s) in project management process and best practice including, but not limited to, scope and budget and schedule development as well as monitoring, risk management, construction monitoring, deficiency reviews, commissioning activities, contractor health and safety compliance, occupancy planning and post occupancy evaluation
- Managing assigned projects or tasks from planning through implementation and close-out
- Participate / facilitate all project related meetings and conferences, as necessary
- Act as the primary liaison, through multiple communication venues, between Facilities team and contract service providers (service companies), end-users, Infection Prevention and Control team, Occupational Health and Safety team, consultants and construction team to ensure client and hospital objectives are met throughout the construction and project close-out process
- Collaborate and track with consultants to respond to requests for information and shop drawing submissions; confirm project information (review of drawings, specifications, etc.); confirm payment authorizations, etc. to ensure all construction related activities and requests are addressed in a timely manner and within the contract terms
- Ensure end-user decanting and relocation is planned and executed efficiently, effectively and according to schedule
- Facilitate planning logistics and implementation of new and transferred equipment requirements
- Work in compliance with the Ontario building code, CSA infection control standards and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations; reporting hazards, deficiencies and contraventions in a timely manner, per current industry standards and regulations
- Work under own initiative to drive project processes while displaying energy and enthusiasm within the role and deliver projects on time and on budget
- Provide direct project management support for other concurrent projects as required
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested
Qualifications
College / university education in a related building sciences discipline requiredPMP® certification is considered an assetMinimum of three years of construction project management relevant medium to large scale projects experience (preference will be given for experience in a health care environment)Understanding and practical use of CCDC 2 and use of supplemental conditionsDemonstrated project management skills, including development and monitoring of budgets and schedulePreferred understanding of and experience with the Ministry of Health capital planning processesBasic knowledge of architectural, and / or mechanical and electrical systems (basic knowledge of all three is considered an asset)Understanding of CSA Z317 (latest editions) standards is an assetUnderstanding of CSA Z8000 and other related CSA standards is an assetFamiliarity with the Broader Public Sector procurement directive would be an assetCurrent Working at Heights training or able to achieve upon hiringOutstanding organization, priority setting and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated work in a team environmentOutstanding written and oral communication skillsDemonstrate computer skills, specifically Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Teams (AutoCAD would be an asset)Travel between all Osler sites may be requiredMust demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and CollaborationAdditional Information

Annual Salary
Minimum : $ 85,839.00
Maximum : $107,308.50
