What You Will Bring To The Team

In addition to what makes you unique, there are a few basics that we require for this role :

• Degree or diploma in computer science or other information technology related area
• 5+ years' experience
• Experience leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies
• Excellent working knowledge of servers, networks (WAN / LAN), telecommunications, security, and systems administration
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
• Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices
• Experience working with various technologies including, but not limited to, Windows Servers, Switches / Routers, WIFI, VPN and Firewall
• Demonstrated aptitude for being proactive, innovative and learning new technologies
• Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to manage time effectively, maintain schedules to meet deadlines, prioritize conflicting priorities, and work well within a team environment.
• Ability to lift servers and equipment (25-50lbs) on occasion
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must be available to work on site.
• Ability to respond and provide evening and weekend support or complete upgrades.

Additional Assets :

• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, MCSA / MCSE, ITIL, Agile Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, Azure Solution Architect, Security+
• Experience with Linux OS and MS SQL

Your Role

As a Systems Engineer, your job includes managing and overseeing network / server / telecommunications infrastructure, and architecture design to ensure performance and cost optimizations so that the business operations are optimized, available and data secured.

Supported companies include, but not limited to, Murphy's Pharmacies, Andrews Senior Care and Atlantic Medical Centers located in PE, NL, NB and ON.

• Review, design, setup, maintain and monitor network, server, and telecommunications architecture and cloud platforms.
• Monitor performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure.
• Lead IT projects, including designing, deployment and supporting solutions.
• Help define IT infrastructure strategies, architecture and processes.
• Recommend, develop and maintain information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes;

identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.

• Create and maintain infrastructure architecture documentation
• Create, maintain and test data backup and disaster recovery strategies
• Implement and assist with managing change management process for network and server architecture
• Do research to identify, evaluate and recommend new and modern technologies for implementation
• Self-organize to pull on IT resources and client stakeholders as needed to ensure objectives / goals are successful.
• Drive improvements and standards across the IT team aimed at process optimization, cost reduction and agile strategies
• Contribute to team effort and success
• Other duties as required
