Dynatrace Observability EngineerApex Systems is a global IT services provider, and our staffing practice has an opening for a Dynatrace Observability Engineer with extensive experience building out service tagging and mapping from scratch, the ability to consult on mature observability best practices, and a background in monitoring and dashboard automation to place at our client, a Big Five Bank.

Client : Big Five BankTerms : 6 month rolling contract.Location : Currently 100% Remote, Canada-wide.Project :

• The Technology Operations Team is looking for a strong Dynatrace expert to help support the applications, services, and events tagging for the organization with Dynatrace.
• Will require working closely with application development groups and cloud infrastructure teams to build and mature observability, dashboards, synthetic monitoring scripts, and leverage APM tools to diagnose causes of performance degradation.
• Core project initiative will be focused on the creation of the target state sequencing through tagging of Cloud Service Traces in AWS, On Prem Services and various metrics to map out the business services and allow for dynamic and location specific dashboarding.Job Description :
• The Dynatrace Observability Engineer is talented and passionate about Observability and will be responsible for designing and implementing observability solutions that enable proactive and efficient monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting of complex systems, applications, and critical business processes.
• The successful applicant will have significant experience with Observability, Dynatrace SaaS, APM, DQL, logs on Grail, and dashboarding of Critical Business Processes (preferably with Dynatrace Business Events).Role Responsibilities :
• Gather and document requirements from product, development, and infrastructure teams.
• Create and optimize alerting profiles, set up and maintain management zones, integrate Dynatrace with ServiceNow develop Dynatrace tagging to support dynamic dashboarding.
• Ensure alignment of naming conventions and tagging with business processes.
• Provide ongoing analysis and optimization recommendations
• Set up and maintain management zones.
• Integrate Dynatrace with ServiceNow and develop Dynatrace Business Dashboards.
• Provide ongoing analysis and optimization recommendations
• Meet with product, development, and infrastructure teams to track workflows for Dynatrace alerts on their applications.Key Qualifications :
• At least 5 years of experience in a DevOps ecosystem, containing one or multiple performance tools, of which at least three years as technical consultant, developer or architect.
• Needs to have significant experience with Observability, Dynatrace SaaS, APM, DQL, logs on Grail, and dashboarding of Critical Business Processes (preferably with Dynatrace Business Events).
• Experience with Critical Business Events / Processes Mapping and Tagging within Dynatrace.
• A background in leveraging Dynatrace SaaS, APM, DQL and Observability.
• Experience working in a ServiceNow, ITSM environment is Preferred
• In depth understanding of CMDB, API’s and automation.
• Strong knowledge and experience in cloud-based architecture, particularly AWS.
• Required understanding of AWS Lambda, Kubernetes, Docker Container Services, Java Services, and .Net Services.
• Familiar with automation, DevOps, CI / CD, & IaC tools and practices : Terraform, Jenkins, Git, Ansible, Integrating with APIs.
• Experience in working with DevOps, CI / CD, and agile methodologies.
• Proficient in developing and maintaining technical documentation, runbooks, and procedures.Certifications :
• Dynatrace certifications are a huge plus.
• ServiceNow / Dynatrace / ITIL certifications desired.Interview Process : Interviews will take place in two rounds during the same week this month.
