The Opportunity
We’re looking for a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Black’s Pub. In this leadership role, you’ll work closely with our Head Chef to execute high-quality dishes, inspire a dynamic kitchen crew, and help elevate our food program to new heights.

What You Bring to the Table
2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or similar leadership roleStrong understanding of cooking methods, equipment, ingredients, and kitchen proceduresProven track record of effective kitchen and staff managementAbility to work quickly and calmly in emergency or high-pressure situationsKnowledge of industry best practices—experience in the Whistler dining scene is an assetFamiliarity with restaurant management software (e.g., BevSpot), Word, and POS systemsExcellent organizational and time-management abilitiesStrong communication and leadership skills with the ability to inspire a teamPassion for food quality, sustainability, and continuous improvementYour Days Will Look Like
Lead daily food preparation and service alongside the Head Chef.Create high-quality dishes with strong attention to taste, presentation, and consistency.Support, train, and supervise kitchen staff to maintain high performance.Maintain kitchen cleanliness and uphold all food safety standards.Assist with menu planning, ordering, and managing inventory levels.Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment to ensure smooth operations.Contribute creative ideas to elevate the food program and kitchen efficiency.Troubleshoot issues in the kitchen, ensuring fast, effective problem-solving.Sound like a fit?
