Akkodis is partnered with a leading FinTech who specialize in payment processing. They're looking to recruit a Senior Network Security Architect here in Toronto.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive network security architecture that aligns with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and key business & strategic goals.

Reporting to the VP, Information Security, you will collaborate across teams to integrate security into the IT Strategy, develop & enforce best practices, and lead the adoption of Zero Trust Principles.

Key Responsibilities include :

  • Security Architecture : Lead the design and implementation of network security architectures, ensuring they meet regulatory standards and strategic objectives.
  • Network Segmentation & Compliance : Develop network segmentation strategies to align with PCI DSS and other industry regulations, minimizing risk and enhancing security.
  • Zero Trust : Drive Zero Trust initiatives, including least privilege access, continuous monitoring, and real-time threat detection, to create a secure-by-design network.
  • Advanced Security Tools : Oversee configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of firewalls, IDS / IPS, VPNs, SIEM, and encryption protocols, proactively defending against threats.
  • Collaborate & Influence : Serve as a network security advocate and communicate effectively with architecture, infrastructure and business teams to gain buy-in on network security requirements.
  • Hands-on leadership : Be ready to dive in hands-on when needed, provide guidance, own the network security requirements from start to finish, aid in implementations, resolve road blocks, and more.
  • Policy Development : Establish, update, and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to protect network infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have a combination of the below skills :

Experience : 10+ years in information security with at least 7 years focused on network security architecture and infrastructure.

Ability to design high-level solutions while remaining technology agnostic.

  • Technical Skills : Expertise in firewalls, IDS / IPS, VPNs, SIEM, encryption protocols, and hands-on experience with frameworks such as NIST, PCI-DSS, and ISO 27001.
  • Zero Trust & Compliance : Proven experience leading Zero Trust implementations and ensuring regulatory compliance across large, complex network environments.
  • Communication & Influence : Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical professionals, fostering collaboration, gaining buy-in, influencing direction, strategy & plans.
  • Educational Background : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant Certifications : CCSP, ZTCA, CCIE, CISSP, or similar would be considered an asset!
