Job description

Job Purpose :

As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for verifying data integrity, supporting hardware and software upgrades, and ensuring the seamless integration of network equipment, primarily the 7750, 7705, 7250, and IXR series. You will apply your extensive technical expertise to troubleshoot, validate procedures, and ensure operational efficiency during customer deployments.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform data integrity checks for 7750, 7705, and 7250 IXR nodes in preparation for integration and software upgrades.
  • Report any discrepancies to customers through chain management.
  • Execute tasks following approved Method of Procedures (MOPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Validate and update MOPs, SOPs, and data templates as necessary for equipment integration and deployment.
  • Prepare MOPs for safe software upgrades on customer equipment; resolve scripting issues and support internal teams during maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshoot software issues, resolve faults, and upgrade network equipment using Command Line Interface (CLI) and graphical user interfaces (GUI).
  • Apply QoS standards to analyze and optimize network performance.
  • Develop and build router configuration files to support customer requirements.

Other Responsibilities :

  • Provide ongoing support for 7750, 7705, 7210, and IXR router elements.
  • Manage software upgrades, implementation, and integration maintenance for customer networks.
  • Deliver IPv6 telecommunications traffic migration services.
  • Use proprietary software tools and execute set procedures to meet customer deliverables.
  • Escalate any quality issues to improve the overall customer experience.
  • Create detailed technical documentation, including MOPs for Field Technicians.
  • Apply strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues.
  • Qualifications :

  • Hands-on experience with routers.
  • certifications such as NRS I or NRS II (NRS II preferred).
  • Proficiency in IP, MPLS, Segment Routing, ISIS, and OSPF protocols.

  • Consistently meet project deadlines and ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Ensure all software and hardware upgrades are completed efficiently with minimal disruption.
  • Maintain effective communication with the customer, escalating any issues promptly.
