Industrial Structural Engineer

INDUSTRIAL STRUCTURAL ENGINEER – INTERMEDIATE

Salary Range :

$ 90,000.00 - $ 110,000.00 (Annually)

Overview :

TWS Engineering is looking for an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our Edmonton office industrial group. The individual will be part of a team supporting our oil, gas, mining and manufacturing clients. The role will be office based with occasional trips to site. The position is a full-time salary position however part time and contract will be considered as well.

Skills and Basic Qualifications :

• Registered Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) with APEGA
• 7+ Years of Structural experience working on Industrial Projects
• Thorough understanding of industrial focused structural engineering concepts.
• Experience with structural modelling software such as S-FRAME, RISA, STAAD, SAFE
• Experience with finite-element programs (e.g., ETABS, and SAP) is considered an asset.
• Experience directing the preparation of industrial structural design drawing packages including structural plans, sections and details, foundation plans, base plate layouts etc.
• Able to perform basic visual inspections and measurements in the field.
• Able to review shop drawings and prepare RFI responses.
• Able to independently collect data and gather information to support design decisions.
• Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written) and proven ability to collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplined environment.
• Ability to interpret engineering and design documentation and take general scopes and instructions from thought to conception with minimal supervision.
• Familiar with NBCC and other codes & standards commonly employed for industrial projects.
