Lethbridge was the best move a doctor made for her family
Lethbridge is Alberta's third-largest city and home to three post-secondary institutions. The thinkers, makers and doers of our city are leading change in industries like agriculture, food sciences, research and manufacturing.
We provide the perfect training ground for the sporting legends of today and tomorrow, while being the backdrop to inspire the creative minds of artists and cultural icons too.
We're a uniquely diverse and growing city and we're looking for physicians to grow along with us.
Life in Lethbridge strikes a balance between the feel of a close-knit small community and the services and amenities of a growing urban center.
Dr. Kirsten Derdall says that living and working in Lethbridge has provided her a rewarding career. She says healthcare professionals can advance their careers in Lethbridge, with many opportunities for medical education, as well as administrative and leadership roles.
Derdall, who works as an anesthesiologist at the city’s Chinook Regional Hospital, loves all that the community has to offer, and she’s especially grateful for the short commutes and easy access to work and extracurricular activities.
My husband and I moved here with our two children after I finished my fellowship training; we’ve since had two more children and find ourselves very busy with all the children’s activities, she says.
But we live in a beautiful residential area that’s just a short walk to the hospital and my children’s schools, and we also have a grocery store, public library, outdoor pool, beautiful playgrounds, tennis courts, and public golf course that are within easy walking distance.
