Who You Are

The Senior Oracle Database Administrator is responsible for the oversight, development and implementation of standards, strategies, objectives and technology plans for the company’s database infrastructure and maintenance.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience with Oracle DB administration
• Recent experience with Oracle DB version 19c
• 10+ years of experience with Oracle Real Application Cluster, including installation, upgrade, and patching
• Extensive knowledge of ASM, ACFS, and DBFS file systems internals
• Understanding and hand-on experience with HA solution for DB (DataGuard and Goldengate) and for application (UCP, ONS, FAN, AC)
• Strong logical and physical DB design skills, including partitioning (newest features), indexing, etc.
• Backup strategies and disaster recovery using RMAN
• Performance monitoring and tuning on query, DB, and OS levels using OEM and custom scripts, good knowledge of database internal views
• Hand-on experience with Oracle Advanced Security (TDE, Data Redaction)
• Knowledge of basic UNIX administration (user, groups, resources utilization, etc.)
• Familiarity with basic cloud operations and AWS command line
• Nice to have : MongoDB

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Participate in continuous improvement efforts in enhancing performance and providing increased functionality, including performing proactive maintenance such as ensuring continued space availability, monitoring activity, and documenting problems, changes, and solutions.
• 24x7 production support, 1 week per month as primary on-call
• Interact with testing and development teams to resolve problems and identify system enhancements
• Install, upgrade, patch, and maintain Oracle 19c database and OS
• Design, implement and monitor backup and disaster recovery processes for on premise and cloud environments

Physical Demands

This role requires extended periods of sitting or standing at a computer workstation.
