Job description

Description

We’re looking for a strategic Content Operations Specialist who thrives at the intersection of creativity and technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and deploying content across a variety of web surfaces.

We’re looking for a detail-oriented, highly-motivated individual to help us develop and deploy web pages, social content, and sales collateral for one of the world’s most trusted brands. In this role, you will coordinate day-to-day content marketing initiatives, and assist with sourcing, editing, and uploading of visual assets such as photography and videos. You will also help manage dashboards, trackers, and calendars to support content and campaign development and content publishing.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves storytelling as much as they love headless content management systems. You’ll work closely with other teams — marketing, design, product, and engineering — to bring our content to life in an organized, scalable, and effective way.

This is a part-time contract opportunity offering a starting rate of $48/hr for up to 15 hours per week, with the flexibility to work remotely during North American business hours, from our Vancouver headquarters, or a hybrid of both. If this aligns with your values, we’d love to hear from you. This role is open to those who are eligible to work in Canada.

Quietly is an award-winning consultancy, harnessing business and creative acumen to drive real outcomes for brands looking to succeed. Our people are dedicated to proving the impact of content on business results through a commitment to service that delivers actionable, expert counsel and compelling, effective content. Quietly partners with category leaders such as Coursera, Goldman Sachs, Intercom, Morningstar, Motorola Solutions and PwC to understand how content drives their business.

What You’ll Do

Manage & Publish Content in Contentful
  • Create, edit, and maintain content entries including case studies, landing pages, blog posts, and articles.
  • Ensure all content is optimized for readability, consistency, SEO, and conversion.
  • Upload and format content directly within Contentful, including images, videos, and rich text elements.
  • Maintain content taxonomy, metadata, and tagging systems for discoverability and governance.
  • Ensure all content follows accessibility best practices, including proper semantic structure, alt text usage, and readability standards.
  • Manage the content lifecycle by auditing, archiving, and updating entries to maintain accuracy, freshness, and CMS cleanliness.
Collaborate Across Teams
  • Partner with writers, designers, and marketers to plan and execute content that aligns with brand and campaign goals.
  • Coordinate with product and dev teams to test new modules, templates, and content types.
  • Support stakeholders by providing content structure insights and CMS best practices.
Enhance Content Strategy & Workflow
  • Propose improvements to content operations and workflows within Contentful.
  • Monitor content performance and collaborate on continuous optimization efforts.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI tools to optimize and/or automate within various workflows.
  • Collaborate with developers and product teams to refine and evolve Contentful content models, ensuring scalable structures, clear field definitions, and efficient editorial workflows.
  • Maintain and document content governance guidelines, including naming conventions, taxonomy rules, and reusable component standards.
  • Create and update internal documentation to support editors and cross-functional partners in using Contentful effectively.
  • Ensure metadata, internal linking, and structured content elements are optimized for SEO and discoverability across all digital surfaces.
Test & Troubleshoot
  • Experiment with new modules and layouts within Contentful.
  • Identify and report CMS or content structure issues, working with developers as needed.
  • Conduct thorough QA on all Contentful entries to ensure pages accurately reflect the approved copy, designs, and brand standards.
  • Validate published and staging environments by comparing Contentful builds against source materials (copy docs, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs), identifying discrepancies and resolving issues before launch.
  • Perform cross-browser and device checks to confirm layout consistency, responsive behavior, and overall content integrity.
  • Coordinate content releases, ensuring proper review, staging validation, and stakeholder sign-off before publishing.

Who You Are

Experienced:
  • 2–4 years of experience in content management, digital publishing, or web content operations.
  • Hands-on experience in Contentful (or a similar headless CMS).
Creative yet Analytical:
  • You can review copy and design with empathy for the audience, while staying mindful of structure, data, and conversion goals.
  • You have a growth mindset and a willingness to learn new skills, tools, and processes.
Technically Fluent:
  • Comfortable working with existing modules and configurations as developed within Contentful.
  • Familiar with UX/UI principles and basic front-end development frameworks — enough to tweak HTML code, embed media, and troubleshoot formatting.
  • Not a developer, but you know how to talk to one.
  • Proficient in AI tools, with a sound understanding of LLMs and agental frameworks.
  • Understanding of API-driven content delivery and how Contentful entries connect to front-end components and templates.
Collaborative & Resourceful:
  • Able to juggle multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Thrive in cross-functional settings with designers, engineers, and marketers.
  • You are interested in marketing and content development, AND you are a “doer” - you can learn quickly, ask questions and take initiative.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with Canva, Figma, or other design tools is a plus.
  • Experience with SEO optimization and analytics tools.
  • Familiarity with UX writing or structured content design principles.
  • Exposure to component-based design systems or modular content.
  • Experience in B2B or SaaS environments.
