Senior Product Manager / Aplos
With Aplos, nonprofit groups and faith-based organizations of every shape, size, and mission can seamlessly run their finances and operations, manage their business and bottom line, and proactively engage their communities and donors when it matters most.
We're a remote team, spread across North America (with peers all over the world).
We're looking for a Senior Product Manager to help us develop our core accounting product, leading feature delivery, and ensuring our business and product efforts are well-aligned to customer needs.
By joining our team, you'll not only get to deepen your product management, research, and strategy skills but - through our incredible customers - have a positive impact on the world by amplifying critical non-profits.
About the role
As a Senior Product Manager at Aplos, you'll be responsible for developing, delivering, and evaluating our product initiatives.
You'll be responsible for the full product lifecycle, from research, to delivery with a talented engineering team, to marketing and adoption, and finally evaluation.
At Aplos, our engineering team works in an agile environment.
You'll be supported by our Chief Product Officer, work closely with our designer and one of our three engineering pods. Each day, you'll coordinate with our committed customer care and growth teams, and you'll grow as part of a wider community of companies serving non-profits alongside Keela and Raisely.
We want someone who can hit the ground running for this role, with some product management experience. However, we're looking for the right attitude.
We value curiosity, scrappiness, architectural-thinking, a deep understanding of our customer, and a grasp of accounting practice.
You'll be a good fit if you're passionate about building a great accounting tool, and you plan for tomorrow but move quickly today.
Like all of our product roles at Aplos, we value excellent written communication, a passion for the world-changing work of our customers, and ask that you leave your ego behind.
Hours
This role is full-time and permanent. You'll be expected to work 5 days / 40hrs a week.
Location
We are hiring in the US and Canada and require the successful applicant to work pacific hours. See below for preferred hiring locations we currently support.
What will you be doing?
Here are some things that you might tackle in your first few months :
- Lead Agile engineering ceremonies, retros, refinements, and project discovery for your engineering team
- Research and develop product requirements for a new integration with an expense management tool
- Conduct user interviews and analyze product metrics to understand how our new reporting screens are performing
- Become the expert on the Aplos product, training internal teams on how a new piece of functionality works
- Review an early prototype to ensure it meets strategic requirements, and aligns with our product objectives
- Collaborate with the wider product and design team on our product roadmap, identifying key opportunities and risks
- Constantly improve our product practice and processes so we become a more effective team
- Provide senior-level oversight of a complex multi-product integration project
What we're looking for
You're deeply technical
While you might not know how to code, you have a detailed understanding of how systems work. You understand data structures, UI frameworks, and can break complex problems down into their most elemental components.
You're experienced
You've been at this for a while, and can navigate interdependencies, large companies, and manage internal teams. You're a natural leader with a point-of-view you can substantiate.
You have experience in product management, accounting, or (even better) both.
You're curious and pragmatic
You're a self-learner, you don't need to be told what to do every day, and you never let perfect be the enemy of good. You understand that a SaaS product is iterative, and we need to hold short and long term goals in the same hand.
You care about making a difference
Our product team at Aplos, Keela and Raisely exists in service of our world-changing non-profit customers and we are deeply invested in their success.
So, you've gotta want to back them too!
Ok, and why work with us?
You'll be joining a product team that's in a transformational moment. We're passionate, refining our craft, and seeking ways to amplify our work.
Zooming out, you'll be able to contribute to an industry-defining non-profit cloud, helping tens of thousands of nonprofits serve their communities better.
Plus - we have fun. This is a driven team, we hate busy work, and amplify each other. It's the environment you need to thrive.
If you needed more convincing, here's the rest of it :
- Salary - Pay range for the US : $125,000 - $150,000 USD, Canada : $125,000 - $150,000 CAD. Your base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, experience, and geographic location.
- Flexible hours - Working here is about getting your work done, not clocking hours. We provide genuine flexibility and control over your time.
- In-person meetups - Every year you'll get together with other product folks in our group to hone your craft.
- Remote work & leave - We're a remote-first company. See below for the preferred remote locations we can support in North America.
We also have a generous PTO plan and support paid parental leave.
- Health Coverage - We offer robust medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance coverages.
