We invite applications for the position of : Utility Grounds Worker (0425) Under the supervision of the Director of Operations or designate, this position will maintain grounds and inspect and repair playground equipment.
This position may be required to start work at various project locations. Successful applicants will have : completed Grade 10;
two (2) years experience with landscaping, installation and maintaining fencing and playground equipment; knowledge of horticultural activities (e.
g. tree pruning, grass cutting, and Integrated Pest Management techniques); knowledge and experience in operation of small powered equipment (e.
- g.lawnmower, snowblower, rototiller, string trimmer, tamper, hedge trimmer and snow removal equipment) demonstrated training and work experience in current BC construction / maintenance safety requirements and WCB Regulation relating to the trade and industry;
- valid B.C. Class 3 Drivers License with Air Brake Endorsement. Applicants will be expected to : possess the physical condition and health to carry out the required duties of this position;
- maintain good interpersonal skills; have good verbal and written communication skills; have working knowledge of Microsoft outlook, word and excel and the work order system;
be a self-starter and able to work alone or in a team environment with minimum supervision; complete the required District's Health & Safety training.
This is full time continuing position starting as soon as possible, working 40 hours per week at a wage rate of $26.74 per hour as of July 1 / 2024 plus a comprehensive employee benefit package including extended health and dental coverage, short term and long term disability insurance and participation in a defined benefit pension plan.
