This is an entry-level role designed for someone early in their supply chain career who is eager to learn develop strong purchasing fundamentals and grow within a collaborative team environment. With support and mentorship from Intermediate and Senior Buyers the Junior Buyer will learn to apply sound purchasing judgment to achieve best overall value for the organization while delivering excellent service to internal successful candidates responsibilities will include : Create purchase orders for materials and services in accordance with Corporate Purchasing proceduresMonitor open purchase orders and assist with expediting as needed to support production schedulesSupport the management of safety stock levels and inventory accuracyProvide a high level of service to internal production and business partnersBuild and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholdersParticipate in supplier performance reviews and rating activitiesAssist Intermediate and Senior Buyers with RFP and sourcing activitiesExecute small RFQs with guidance as neededSupport cost-saving initiatives by identifying opportunities and assisting with analysisEnsure purchasing documentation is complete accurate and properly approvedParticipate in training development and cross-training opportunities within the departmentThe above responsibilities reflect the primary duties of the role and are not intended to be an exhaustive ideal candidate for this position will have : High School Diploma with 13 years of related education co-op internship or entry-level experienceORSupply Management Training (SMT) designation or willingness to completeInterest in purchasing supply chain or operationsWillingness to learn corporate purchasing processes and proceduresComfortable using computers and learning ERP systems (experience with Syteline or similar is an asset)Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detail initiative and a customer-service mindsetBasic understanding of how purchasing interacts with other departments is an assetShould this excellent opportunity interest you please submit your resume including salary Industries Limited hires on the basis of merit and is strongly committed to equity and diversity.
