Job description

Overview

We have an immediate opening for a Dock Worker at our Dartmouth terminal, located at 80 Guildford Avenue, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload trailers and / or other vehicles for transporting goods
  • Ensure products are stored in the correct location and in good condition
  • Evaluate freight for damage and wear, report faults and discrepancies to relevant parties
  • Communicate with external and internal customers in a professional and timely manner
  • Other duties as required

Requirements

  • Experience operating a Counterbalance Forklift
  • Physical labour is a requirement
  • A willingness to work
  • Dependability and a good attitude
  • Reliable transportation – must live in the area and be able to get to work
  • Previous experience operating forklift (certification is an asset)
  • Ability to use scanners, paperwork where required
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to complete online safety courses as required
  • Physically demanding; heavy lifting is a requirement
  • Warehouse conditions : possible high noise levels, warm or cold environment depending on weather
  • Safety boots / shoes
  • Clean criminal background
  • Shift

    Full time Evening Shifts Monday – Friday (5pm-2am)
