Graduate Program Coordinator
Primary Purpose : The Graduate Program Coordinator is responsible for the strategic planning and process improvement of the administrative and operational needs of the graduate programs in the College of Medicine (CoM). The Graduate Program Coordinator supports the Assistant Dean Graduate Studies in setting the strategic direction of the graduate programs and developing and facilitating the funding initiatives related to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in the College of Medicine.
Nature of Work : Reporting to the Director of Research and receiving strategic guidance from the Assistant Dean Graduate Studies and the Graduate Program Chairs, the Graduate Program Coordinator demonstrates leadership in all aspects of graduate program coordination and planning. The incumbent works collaboratively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including biomedical and clinical faculty, staff, students, regional partners and professional bodies from across the province and nationally. Success in the role will be dependent on working closely with the CoM Graduate Programs Committee and Director of Research, as well as counterparts in Student and Enrolment Services (SESD) and College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (CGPS).

Manage the maintenance of student databases and electronic filing, and work with campus partners to continue to improve data management processes and quality
Provide leadership in the development of proactive academic integrity plans and act as a resource for student appeal cases
Provide leadership and coordination for program planning activities such as student progression, class build, and distributed technology needs that support timely, sustainable and high quality program delivery
Coordinate special projects and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education : A Bachelor Degree in a related discipline. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience : A minimum of five years of experience with academic program coordination in a university setting with a focus on administrative and organizational effectiveness. Experience with counselling and advising students. Experience with university policies and procedures with an emphasis on Graduate Studies. In depth knowledge of graduate biomedical and medical education programs is an asset.

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated professional maturity in judgment, decisiveness, and conflict resolution.
