Position Summary : Install electrical control systems in new and existing buildings, including retrofit projects in a construction environment. Working conditions may include restricted movement, dirty environments, hazardous materials, moderate physical duties, and working at heights.
Responsibilities :
- Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams, and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new and existing installations
- Cut, bend, thread, and install conduits and other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fittings
- Pull wire through conduits and ceiling spaces
- Install, replace, and repair electrical control equipment such as relays, temperature sensors, actuators, and panels
- Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems, remove and replace faulty components
- Splice, join, and connect wire to components to form complete control systems
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Perform tasks with minimal supervision and in accordance with Ainsworth Health & Safety policies and procedures
- Perform all job functions safely, abiding by all applicable health, safety, environmental policies, and regulations
Qualifications :
Inducted Apprentice in Alberta (1st-4th Year) with conduit experienceHigh School diploma or equivalent from a certified collegeKnowledge of electrical theory and terminologyExperience with HVAC, building electrical systems, and VFDs is an assetAbility to read and draw simple electrical sketches and schematicsExcellent command of English, both written and oralStrong attention to detail and ability to execute precision workExperience in commercial / construction installationsClass 5 driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstractWhy work at Ainsworth?
