Position : Medical Office Assistant
Pay Rate : $18–$22 / hr (depending on experience)
Duration : Temporary (March 3 – March 10)
Reports To : Clinical Office Manager
Position Overview :
The Medical Office Assistant (MOA) supports physicians and the healthcare team by welcoming, scheduling, and guiding patients, managing medical records, assisting in clinical care, overseeing physician billing, and maintaining a safe and organized clinical environment. The MOA serves as a professional contact point for patients and the public, representing the clinic’s values and mission.
Key Responsibilities :
Manage patient scheduling, follow-ups, and clinic communications
Prepare charts, forms, and clinical tools; assist with patient procedures
Maintain medical records, including confidential documents and coding
Track court orders and patient access to medical information
Manage clinical supplies, vaccinations, and equipment maintenance
Support physician billing and identify process efficiencies
Ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with PHIA, infection control, and other regulations
Cross-cover other MOAs as needed and collaborate with the healthcare team
Qualifications & Skills :
Post-secondary degree / diploma in Medical or Surgical Office Assisting (or equivalent)
Experience in healthcare administration or direct patient care
Knowledge of EMR systems, medical terminology, and confidentiality practices
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office
