We are currently looking for a Fund Accounting Functional Analyst consultant to work with one of our clients, a major Investment Bank in Montréal.

Mission

We are looking for a functional support analyst, who :

• Has expertise in fund accounting activity, has a good understanding of the NAV cycle,
• Can lead analysis of figures at the accounting level (be able to explain NAV variations)
• Is familiar with classic financial products and derivatives
• Is familiar with the different existing fund structures on the market (multiclass funds, poolings, segment master structures, the concept of share class hedging )

As a functional analyst, your will :

• Be in charge of performing L1 / L2 functional support for Fund accounting / NAV Calculating core applications Multifonds FA / WEM and other in-house satellite applications.
• Analyse and solve accounting and technical issues during production phases, raise change requests to the vendor, and ensure the follow-up of issues until the delivery of patch corrections.
• Understand prerequisites for accounting migrations and specific accounting events such as a merger, split / change of currency of share classes.
• Contribute to maintaining a very stable BAU to deliver NAV on time and match the deadlines.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will be to :

• Ensure the efficiency of the solution applied in production to solve issues.
• Ensure the testing of new Multifonds FA functionalities
• Ensure Proper Communications to Operational Users regarding item resolution and status.
• Ensure Internal Global Communication between the support teams and development teams
• Ensure The right application of SLA and fulfill the application support department duties.
• Share your expertise and knowledge with the team
• Apply the rules and the procedures
• Provide an added value to set an efficient workaround in BAU
• Avoid recurring incidents
• Write procedures and documentation related to the workarounds applied

Education and professional experience :

• Business degree or MBA in Finance
• 5 years of experience in production support activity for Fund accounting applications

Soft skills

• Team spirit requested : Working in a good team spirit is a need to be able to work under pressure.
• Analytical skills : being familiar with figures accounting reports and rules, including taxes figures.
• Communication skills : Expresses your messages, both orally and in writing, in an effective, organized way, which is appropriate to the audience being addressed.
• Autonomous : being able to lead investigations to solve issues by mobilizing all resources / departments requested.
• Flexibility : be ready to be involved in the late shift
• Ability to report : keep your superiors informed about your activities and the progress of your files in an effective way.
• Client focus : Do everything possible to achieve internal or external customer satisfaction by identifying the customer’s needs and providing them with the appropriate solution.

Business skills :

• Good knowledge of the Mutual Funds industry.
• Knowledge of fund accounting software (Multifonds FA / WEM or control or similar software)

Technical skills :

• Proficiency in ACCESS & EXCEL
• Basic Oracle SQL / PL-SQL is a plus

Languages :

• English : full professional proficiency
• French is a plus
