The team boasts over 30 years of combined experience in the development, monitoring, and management of energy projects worldwide with a schedule project pipeline of over US$100 million within the next 3 years.

Job Summary :

The ideal candidate has at least 5+ years of field supervisory experience as a technical engineer running EPC projects valued of at least US$50 million.

Background in renewables with an experience in solar plant buildouts is strongly preferred. The primary focus of the role will be to oversee, audit, inspect, and report daily the installation and related construction of our new solar-powered power station in Gleichen, Alberta, Canada.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead on-site management and deployment of 2 MGW+ power substations, collaborating with Indigenous infrastructure and construction partners.
  • Conduct daily inspections at power stations to ensure compliance with AB building codes. Actively participate in meetings with Alberta engineers and regulators.
  • Open and close job site for EPC team in accordance with local rules and regulations
  • Generate and submit daily progress reports, actively engaging external engineering consultants. Essential collaboration and sensitivity when working with indigenous first nations contractors.
  • Oversee thorough inspection and audit processes to ensure report quality and accuracy. As the sole on-site representative, instrumental in sourcing and collaborating with local engineering consultants for specialized testing and inspections.
  • Play a pivotal role in liaising with subcontractors, EPC companies, Foreman, and managing supply chain relationships.
  • Lead and grow a team of 5 in YYC, with potential expansion to 9 members this year.
  • Transition from field responsibilities to the junior c-suite, with future potential for the Country Director role.
  • Take charge of successfully delivering the first Canadian project and planning for an additional 100 MW of new builds over the next 3 years in AB

Qualifications

  • APEGA Engineer with hands-on experience in AB building codes.
  • 5+ years experience as a field supervisor
  • 5+ years experience as a Field Electrical Engineer, with a strong preference for a background in solar renewables / electricity projects
  • Physical ability and availability to visit power stations and work in field conditions
  • Interact and build relationships with indigenous First Nations tribes, site owners and vendors
  • Understanding of First Nations culture
  • On-site personnel conflict resolution
  • Ability to pass drug and alcohol screening
