What you'll accomplish
- Perform conceptual and detailed mechanical engineering design activities for the existing and new operations in Uranium Mining / Milling facilities
- Prepare equipment specifications, data sheets and tender documents for procurement of equipment including expediting orders to facilitate installation and construction
- Ensure mechanical / piping systems meet technical specifications, adherence to industry and internal standards, and that required regulatory and QA / QC requirements are met
- Support large multidisciplinary projects from conceptual to detailed engineering, continuing to construction and commissioning support
- Coordinate information requests during fabrication and construction and participate in shop and site visits to ensure acceptance of approved design and compliance with codes and schedule
- Provide technical support to other departments
Skills and qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical EngineeringEligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with APEGS5+ years of experience in mechanical design and construction2+ years of experience engineering industrial projectsKnowledge and application experience of the ASME B31.3, BPVC Section VIII and API 650 CodesAn understanding of process, chemical, and slurry conveyance, piping, and tank designKnowledge of mechanical process equipment selection including pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, etc.Experience with pipe stress analysis including specifying pipe supports pipe support is an assetExperience working within or with other medium to large scale mining and processing organizations is an assetWork location & Travel
