What You’ll Do Here
Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, the Materials Testing Student will have the opportunity to take an active involvement on our Deerfoot Trail Improvements project located in Calgary, Alberta. The student intern will have the following duties :
Provide reports to the construction quality managerAssist with day-to-day tasksDemonstrate attention to detail and ability to review the quality documentation for completenessProvide data and input for month-end quality reporting requirementsMaintain files and correspondence on quality testing and inspectionsAssist in the preparation, review, maintenance and approval of supplier quality related documentsGather field information and assist in material inspection of permanent materials being delivered to the project siteLiaise with clients, contractors and internal departmentsOther administrative duties as requiredMust be self‑motivated and work well with minimum or no direct supervisionWhat You Bring To The Team
Currently enrolled in a technical college diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction ManagementExperience in the construction industry is a strong assetA valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstractExperience in the lab and field testing of construction materials is an assetExcellent Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel skillsProven people and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with a diverse group of individualsExcellent communication skillsProven ability to utilize current technologiesStrong problem‑solving skillsAdaptable to flexible work schedules (day and night shifts) when required to meet deadlinesMust be able to pass a pre‑access drug and alcohol testACI Concrete certification is preferredAecon fosters diversity, inclusion and belonging within and across our organization.
