PSYCHOLOGIST (23-R1033)

Bargaining Unit : NON-UNION Health Care Professionals

Status : Full Time TEMPORARY

Department : Mental Health Rehabilitation 1 East & 2 East

Site : St. Joseph's Hospital

Shifts : Days

Rate of Pay : $61.49 - $79.75 per hour

A psychologist is required to work in the inpatient Mental Health Rehabilitation Program at St Joseph's Hospital in a temporary full-time capacity.

As an active member of an interprofessional team working within a Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery model of care, the incumbent provides assessments, and intervention for clients with a wide range of mental health issues and assists in program development and program evaluation.

Qualifications :

  • Registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario as a psychologist
  • Experience in the provision of psychological services for clients with serious mental illness and comorbid addiction and other issues
  • Skill / experience in the administration and interpretation of psychological tests
  • Skill / experience in delivery of psychological intervention, including individual and group psychotherapy and positive behavior support planning
  • Skill / experience / in a variety of evidence based therapies including CBT for psychosis and ACT for psychosis
  • Training and experience in motivational interviewing and strengths-based interventions
  • Provision of supervision as needed to unregulated providers of psychological services and supervision and mentoring to members of the College of Psychologists holding certificates for supervised practice
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation : Mental Health Act; Health Care Consent Act, PHIPPA, Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Working knowledge of Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) & Recovery principles and practices
  • Experience working within an interprofessional environment
  • Experience in program evaluation, data collection and analysis
  • Valid Ontario's Driver's License access to a reliable vehicle and adequate insurance
  • Demonstrated regular attendance at work
