Job Description - Purchasing Coordinator (54424)
In this role, you’ll manage all CPSS, Supply Chain Operational Purchasing activities for contracted orders and local orders, ensuring best value for the City.
You’ll work independently on assigned tasks within your delegated authority, collaborating with coworkers, specialists, supervisors, managers and internal customers on operational purchasing queries and subsequent orders. Your expertise in sourcing and procurement processes will be essential. Join us to make a difference in the Supply Chain operations team.
Responsibilities
- Create and review purchase orders for completeness, accuracy and compliance with directives and procedures and forward for approval where above delegated authority
- Respond to supplier inquiries related to operational purchasing requirements
- Complete and submit purchase order expediting reports with accurate data
- Monitor purchase orders and their delivery dates, ensure notes and dates are updated and the end user is informed of any changes, through warehouse team or report as required
- Respond to Rush and Expedite PO requests in a timely manner, and communicate responses to customer
- Follow system quoting process to meet customer needs while balancing financial responsibility
- Update the SAP system with accurate information as appropriate
- Resolve System Invoice Exceptions
- Monitor and provide speedy resolutions in high volume group email for purchase inquiries
- May conduct lower risk negotiations on behalf of City
- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications
Qualifications :
High School Diploma AND either a Supply Management Training (SMT) Diploma from the Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) or a Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) certification from the Universal Public Procurement Certification Council (UPPCC) AND Four years diversified procurement or supply chain management experience which should include management, purchasing and contracting administration responsibilitiesOR A minimum completion of level 2 towards the SCMP designation from the SCMA or two-year post-secondary diploma (or higher) in public administration, public policy, supply chain, business, procurement, or related field AND a minimum of four (4) years’ directly related work experience performing a procurement / contract management / supply chain roleOR High School Diploma AND a minimum of six (6) years’ directly related work experience performing a procurement / contract management / supply chain roleAssets
A Degree preferably in Business with a focus in Supply Chain or Business Management is an assetPublic procurement knowledge and experience is an assetExperience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP or Oracle) is an assetKey Skills

Hours of Work : 40 hours per week
Salary Range : $35.922- $44.943 (Hourly); $75,005.14 - $93,840.98 (Annually)
