The Department of Surgery at North York General Hospital in Toronto is seeking a breast surgical oncologist to join our division of general surgery.
The effective date of this appointment is flexible.
The successful candidate must have fellowship training in breast or surgical oncology (with demonstrated interest in breast oncology) and must be a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada or equivalent and eligible to hold a medica licence in Ontario.
The successful candidate will join our outstanding Breast Cancer Program, the only National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) accredited facility in Canada.
Treating 700-800 breast cancer cases annually, we are among the highest-volume centers in the country. Our program provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary breast cancer care, offering cutting-edge screening and diagnostic imaging, advanced surgical management, reconstructive options, genetic counseling, and oncologic treatment, all aimed at delivering the highest standard of care.
We are a thriving community hospital with a strong academic focus, serving as a core training site for surgical residents from the University of Toronto.
The successful candidate will receive a teaching appointment within the University of Toronto's Department of Surgery.
The ideal candidate will be expected to have an elective surgical practice, participate in general surgery call and Acute Care Surgery (ACS) week coverage.
They will join our general surgery division which include colorectal surgeons, general surgeons, breast surgeons, surgical oncologists, abdominal wall and hernia surgeons and ACS surgeons.
