Corporate Health Services (CHS) - Registered Nurse, Casual, Temporary Position
Reporting to the Vice President & Chief Medical Officer, the Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care to Rogers employees and delivers health education programs in accordance with the Regulated Health Professions Act and the standards mandated by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
This position is a casual, temporary position, to support CHS during on-call and short-term absences of the full-time RN / laboratory staff.
You must be able to travel independently to both Toronto & Brampton locations, as well as to additional locations as deemed necessary by the CMO & VP.
Role Expectations :
Assess patients (Rogers employees) to identify appropriate nursing interventions (i.e., first aid, blood pressure monitoring, health counselling, 911 necessity, etc.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician / nurse practitioner or according to established medical directives, policies and protocols (i.
e., immunization, allergy shots, etc.)
- Monitor, assess, treat, document and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditions
- Collect laboratory specimens (i.e., bloodwork, culture & viral swabs etc.) from patients
- Set up and sterilize medical laboratory equipment
- Operate, monitor, and maintain medical equipment within the Health Centre Assist in medical procedures (i.e., annual physicals, PAP testing, general medical assessments)
- Communicate non-critical results of blood work and imaging to patients Perform additional tasks, as needed
Work Environment :
Primary care clinic environment in Rogers Communications Inc. buildings :
- 333 Bloor St East (Toronto, 8 : 00am-4 : 00pm) & 8200 Dixie Road (Brampton, 7 : 30am-3 : 30pm)
- Additional locations as deemed necessary by the CMO & VP
Role Requirements :
- The RN must be entitled to practice with no restrictions & be in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Extensive experience in assessment of patients in emergency situations Knowledge of the use of a defibrillator
- Current health care provider level CPR and First Aid Certificate
- Sound problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong communication (written and verbal)
- Excellent nursing assessment and time management skills
- Must possess a strong focus on delivering quality customer service
- Basic computer and medical systems knowledge
- Must possess the physical ability to perform the day-to-day duties described in the duties and responsibilities
- Ability to work independently and without immediate support
- Be flexible working within an on-call capacity for short durations
