Do you want to contribute to the protection and enjoyment of Pacific Rim National Park Reserve? We are currently seeking hardworking team members to join the Visitor Experience team at Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, and work to help visitors discover the natural treasures protected and presented by Parks Canada.
Pacific Rim National Park Reserve receives over a million visitors every year. We take pride in offering clean facilities for our visitors!
Visitor Facilities Attendant Duties : Cleans and maintains Green Point Campground and Day-Use area buildings, facilities and grounds throughout the Long Beach Unit of the national park reserve.
This includes but is not limited to the daily cleaning of; campground washroom and shower facilities, Day-Use area washrooms and outhouses, visitor centres, staff buildings, and other facilities.
It also involves interaction with national park reserve visitors to provide basic information and direction, litter picking, performing compliance activities, and emptying of trash receptacles.

EXPERIENCE :
Experience in providing cleaning services.

English essential
KNOWLEDGE :
Knowledge of how to read and follow instructions for the use of cleaning products.
ABILITIES :
Concern for Safety Identifying hazardous or potentially hazardous situations and taking appropriate action to maintain a safe environment for self and others.
Enforcement Understanding and applying enforcement policies to detect violations of legislation, identify conditions and / or persons responsible, and take appropriate action.
Initiative Dealing with situations and issues proactively and persistently, seizing opportunities that arise.
Interactive Communication Listening to others and communicating articulately, fostering open communication (oral).
PERSONAL SUITABILITY :
Exercises sound judgement.

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE :
Experience in providing cleaning services in a campground, park, commercial or institutional environment.
Conditions of employment
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT :
Reliability security clearance.
Valid class 5 drivers license.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
The position requires the incumbent to :
Conduct repetitive tasks.
Stand, bend, stretch and work from ladders.
Lift supplies, tools and equipment such as buckets and large bags of garbage.
Dust and wash walls and windows.
Pick up litter and trash.
Travel to various outdoor sites with exposure to weather elements.
Be exposed to noxious odours from cleaning products.
Be exposed to minor injury when performing cleaning and maintenance activities.
Occasionally demonstrate tasks to others.
Wear a Parks Canada uniform and personal protective equipment, and abide by the uniform policy.
Work / travel in varied terrain and weather conditions throughout the PRNPR work area.
Perform certain physical tasks as per job requirements (e.g. lifting up to 20 kg).
Be exposed to stress when responding to fluctuating, unpredictable priorities.
Perform NPR compliance activities.
