ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic Apprentice (“Apprentice Mechanic”) you will learn to repair, troubleshoot, adjust, overhaul, and maintain heavy duty equipment and tools used in construction under supervision.

- Assist mechanics with inspections and repairs
- Follow Safe Work Practices and Safe Job Procedures

- Attend training and keep accurate work records
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist experienced mechanics in inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing engines, brakes, steering, suspension, hydraulics, electrical components, and other mechanical systems on vehicles or heavy equipment.Maintain, inspect, and repair chains in accordance with manufacturer specifications.Safely fuel company equipment using the fuel truck, ensuring proper handling, spill prevention, accurate documentation, and compliance with environmental requirements.Grease blades and equipment according to maintenance schedules, ensuring proper lubrication, safe operation, and reduced wear.Learn and apply all safety procedures for working with machinery, tools, and equipment in shops, service stations, garages, or outdoor construction environments.Operate and maintain tools, diagnostic devices, and computerized systems under supervision.Perform preventative maintenance tasks and basic repairs as skills progress toward journeyperson level.Obtain necessary tools and ensure all equipment(@#J-18808-Ljbffr
