We are the home of the prestigious Firestone Institute for Respiratory Health, the internationally renowned Centre for Minimal Access Surgery (CMAS), and are well known for excellence in respiratory care, kidney and urinary care, mental health and addictions, surgical services, cancer surgery and women’s and infants’ care.
In collaboration with the Program Leadership and key stakeholders the Chief, Diagnostic Imaging will develop and implement a vision and strategy for the Department that seeks to enhance opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and multidisciplinary best practices.
The Diagnostic Imaging department houses a state-of-the-art imaging facility. The Imaging Team is made up of a dynamic group of professionals working together to make the department a centre of excellence in health-care delivery and patient care, research and education.
Over two hundred thousand procedures and examinations are performed annually. The Department is comprised of 20 physicians, and provides a robust training environment for medical students, residents and fellows.
An accomplished clinician leader with a proven track record of fostering academic excellence, the Chief will advance a collaborative culture that promotes high quality care, academic and research endeavours, and strategic partnerships.
The Chief will be an inclusive and visionary leader, with experience in strategy and operations, as well as a passion for patient advocacy, service excellence and patient cultural sensitivity.
The qualified applicant will be eligible for an academic appointment at McMaster University, hold a Fellowship in Diagnostic Imaging from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and be eligible for medical licensure in the Province of Ontario.
Additional credentials / certifications in medical leadership preferred.
