Optical Associate

Our FYidoctors – Edmonton – West Edmonton Mall clinic is looking for an Optical Associate to join our team. This full‑time role (30‑40 hours per week) works 7 days a week.

Job Description

We need someone with excellent retail customer service experience to be the first point of contact for patients, delivering world‑class service. You will assist patients with eyewear choices, interpret prescriptions, fit frames, place contact lens orders, manage appointments, communicate via phone and email, and handle billing.

What Will You Be Doing?

• Welcoming patients into the clinic, providing excellent customer service and fostering a positive patient experience
• Educating clients about the best eyewear choices for their lifestyle, ensuring they receive the best in value and quality
• Informing patients about advances in corrective eyewear solutions as well as assisting with the selection of frames to suit your client’s aesthetic and performance needs
• Interpreting optical prescriptions as written by an optometrist
• Performing frame and facial measurements to ensure correct fit and positioning of new eyewear and performing repairs and adjustments to returning patients’ eyewear
• Placing contact lens orders and assisting with fittings
• Communicating with patients in person, by phone and by email
• Billing the patient, their medical service provider and other third parties
• Managing appointment bookings, prescription printouts and billing and payments
