Responsibilities : Assembly, Testing, and Prototyping : Assemble and test mechanical components and systems according to engineering specifications.
Collaborate with the engineering team to build and refine prototypes for testing and evaluation.Participate actively in product testing and validation activities.
Operate hoisting and lifting equipment (e.g., cranes and forklifts) to position machinery and parts.Experimentation, Data Collection, and Troubleshooting : Conduct experiments and tests following established protocols.
Record and document experimental data accurately and meticulously.Analyze and interpret data to draw meaningful conclusions.
Identify and troubleshoot issues related to equipment, processes, or experiments.Product Development and Quality Control : Assist in the development and formulation of new products or improvements to existing ones.
Collaborate with the R&D team to optimize product characteristics and performance.Perform quality control tests and inspections to ensure products meet established standards.
Identify and address any deviations or issues in the production process.Documentation, Reporting, and Compliance : Maintain detailed records of experiments, procedures, and results.
Prepare technical reports and documentation for both internal and external use.Adhere strictly to safety protocols and guidelines.
Stay informed about industry regulations and ensure compliance with relevant standards.Collaboration and Continuous Learning : Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, millwrights, the service team, and product developers.
Provide valuable support and input for effective project planning and execution.Stay up-to-date with advancements in the field by participating in training sessions and workshops.
Qualifications : Education and Skills : Completion or enrollment in an Industrial Mechanic / Millwright program recognized by the Ontario Colleges or an equivalent qualification.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as precision measurement instruments.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
Familiarity with safety protocols and compliance regulations.Experience : 5-7 years of relevant experience.Specific Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge : Proficiency in making sound decisions and effective problem-solving.
Exceptional organizational skills.Positive attitude with effective interpersonal skills for team collaboration.Capability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics.
Familiarity with SolidWorks is an advantage.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and ensuring high-quality outcomes.
Strong analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail.Excellent follow-through and self-motivation.Ability to multitask effectively, even under pressure.
