Position Summary
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Junior Accountant provides various types of financial support to York Realty and its partners. This individual works collaboratively with other team members and serves as a company representative when engaging with clients and other external stakeholders. Due to the nature of this role, the Junior Accountant must possess a high level of adaptability as they provide services to different entities and departments within our Group (e.g., Construction, Property Management, Precast, etc.).
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a strong level of detail over day-to-day responsibilities
- Manage bank transactions and bank reconciliations for 40+ bank accounts, 30+ legal entities and various departments, such as construction and development
- Conduct periodic account reconciliations and submit reports to management
- Reconcile and process payments for company credit cards
- Record and reconcile property taxes, insurance, and utilities monthly for 100+ properties
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare quarterly balance sheet reporting for management
- Update and maintain accounting databases as needed
- Assist entities and departments with day-to-day accounting and ad hoc reconciliations as required
- Other ad hoc tasks as assigned
