Based in Ontario theSenior Inspector rcsi will report to the Contract Administrator and will have a wide range of duties which ultimately focus on completing field and technical inspections. You will be part of a team that offers services primarily to the provincial government administering large-scale construction projects on highways throughout Ontario. The team acts as a liaison between the Ministry of Transportation and the construction contractor undertaking the work administering the construction contract inspecting for adherence to specifications handling quantity calculations processing progress payments etc. This is a new position and the salary range is $60000 - $85000 annually.

What Youll Do:
The Senior Inspector will be part of the Contract Administration team. You will:

• Complete field inspections including independently performing a broad range of technical inspections in accordance with established standards and regulations
• Conduct inspections of methods and materials used by contractors while ensuring conformity
• Assess and analyze compliance with contract documents
• Ensure environmental protection measures are installed and functioning
• Complete materials testing including compaction testing bag and tag materials and conduct field surveys to verify dimensions and grade
• Accurately record inspection activities in Field Diary provide continuous evaluation of construction progress and provide reports to Contract Administrator on construction activity
• Oversee Junior Inspectors and Checkers

What You Should Bring:
The ideal candidate will have completed a postsecondary program preferably in Civil Engineering. Additionally you should have:

• Minimum of 3 previous MTO or Municipal projects inspecting Structures Grade and/or Asphalt (5 of each would be an asset) for a field role; or
• Having Senior Office person experience on at least 1 MTO or Municipal roadway project for an Office Person role in a project field office; and
• High motivation with results-oriented focus
• Superior organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint)
• Valid Class G drivers licence and use of a personal vehicle
