Process Quality Engineer - Welding (Automotive)
Job Description
Located 40 km north of Brampton in a quaint town with affordable housing, this client offers an exciting and rewarding career opportunity in a fast paced, highly automated, state-of-the-art automotive parts manufacturing facility.
This company is a tier one automotive parts supplier to Honda, in both Canada and in the U.S., producing components for the Accord, Civic, Ridgeline and Acura models.
Utilizing state of the art manufacturing processes to produce these products the company has been stamping, welding, painting and assembling for 20 years.
They have over 800 associates working at 2 on site manufacturing facilities. This is a good place to work. Excellent benefits plan available on day one.

Position Responsibilities :
- Investigate incidents of defective product outflow involving several automated welding technologies for automotive tier one structural steel parts and welded assemblies and implement required containment and sorting activities.
- Apply hands-on knowledge of stamped and welded parts process technology to determine root cause, temporary and permanent countermeasures for quality related issues.
Review similar processes to prevent repeat occurrences.
- Generate reports highlighting process driven countermeasures to high PPM and quality cost reduction activities.
- Participate in Quality Committee meetings.
- Monitor and disposition parts on QA hold. Report status to QA management.
- Ensure welding processes are performed according to approved Control Plans and QMS standards.
- Perform internal QMS audits as scheduled.
- Participate in New Model core teams as applicable.
- Participate in weld fit-up reviews.
- Participate in QA drawing review meetings.
Job Requirements
- Postsecondary education in related field.
- Hands-On Process Expert in MIG and other welding processes and technology knowledge.
- Well versed in using a variety of testing equipment.
- Understanding of ISO / TS 16949, SPC, Quality problem solving tools, and APQP would be an asset
