Therapeutic Caregiver – Homeshare Provider

Summary:

The Therapeutic Caregiver provides daily support, comfort, and encouragement to the Persons Served (child or youth). As a contracted home share provider, you will provide a welcoming home environment that is inclusive and attentive to the unique needs of the individuals in care. The Persons Served must be provided with their own private bedroom in the home that the Therapeutic Caregiver either owns, leases, or rents.

Due to the unique support requirements associated with this role, it is preferred that no other children or youth be living in the home. As an independent contractor position, a thorough screening assessment of each applicant will be conducted. The Therapeutic Caregiver will work with the team to identify potential respite providers to enhance supports to the Persons Served.

Becoming a Therapeutic Caregiver is a rewarding experience for both the caregiver and the Persons Served, though it can be demanding and challenging. As part of the Axis team, Therapeutic Caregivers receive specialized training and ongoing support.

Earnings per 1-Bed Service:

• $4000 per month, fee for service
• 7 days of respite per month $125 per day
• $909.95 per diem rate, per child

Earnings per 2-Bed Service:

• $6000 per month, fee for service
• 7 days of respite per month $125 per day
• $909.95 per diem rate, per child

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Previous experience working with or caring for individuals who have faced adverse life circumstances
• Knowledge of and the ability to work with complex trauma, Autism, FASD, ODD or other neurobiological conditions is beneficial
• Must be patient, compassionate, and adaptable
• Successful completion of the SAFE Homestudy (Agency conducted)
• Current Level 1 First Aid (will be provided)
• CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (will be provided)
• Cleared Criminal Record Check (Agency conducted)
• BC Class 5 driver’s licence, safe driving record, and a reliable vehicle
• Home Insurance (Additional Rider Insurance required, extra cost reimbursed by Axis)
