Responsibilities

• Engineering Solutions Design : Participate in and complete multi-disciplined transportation structure projects, rail bridges and structures, including conceptual design, detailed design, technical specifications, cost, and schedule estimating.
• Engineering Standards Specification : Work within various procurement models and roles.
• Collaboration : Collaborate in small and large teams; lead integration with other engineering disciplines, engineers, and design staff to produce high-quality project deliverables.
• Knowledge Management : Develop policies and processes, create best practices, set up case studies, and deliver internal knowledge-sharing sessions to capture and share knowledge among colleagues on project outcomes and innovative practices.
• Technical Developments Recommendation : Prepare reports and contract documents for review agencies, clients, and the public.
• Professional Supervision : Provide technical leadership and mentorship to intermediate and junior staff.
• Additional Collaboration : Work closely with Business Group Leaders, Project Managers, and Project Directors with a focus on structural design for transit infrastructure; coordinate with other disciplines to deliver high-quality project deliverables; maintain contact with sub-consultants, municipalities, utility companies and clients; ensure timely flow of project information and that designs meet program and budget constraints.
• Feasibility Studies : Conduct complex feasibility studies and document findings for cost-benefit analyses on changes to business processes or structures.
• Project Management : Exposure to project planning, development, and monitoring of schedules and budgets.
• Client & External Stakeholder Management : Maintain contact with sub-consultants, municipalities, utility companies, and clients.
• Needs Assessment : Identify emerging issues or needs, potential causes, barriers, and key stakeholders.
• Improvement / Innovation : Identify shortcomings in existing practices and implement improvements while working with guidance from senior colleagues.
