The CNC Grinding Machine Operator has the responsibility of machine parts using a numerically controlled machine.
ROLE AND Main Responsibilities (These are not limited to the following)
- Set up and operate CNC grinding machines for the manufacture of diamond tools.
- Perform machine programming.
- Monitor operations to determine if adjustments are needed and shut down machines when problems arise.
- Inspect and measure parts to ensure surfaces and dimensions meet specifications.
- Understand the specifications of the task to be performed and the desired result by reading plans, mechanical drawings, etc.
- Translate instructions into computer commands so that the machines can perform the correct function.
- Prepare and load the parts on the machines.
- Replace the grinding wheels of the machines as needed.
- Check and maintain the machines daily to ensure their operation.
- Operate 3 to 4 machines.
- Manage time to ensure machines are always in operation. Adjust breaks accordingly.
Skills and Abilities required
Ability to use CNC machines and tools as well as precision measuring tools.Mechanical aptitude and good mathematical skills.Like manual work and ability to work with hands – dexterity.Have good visual acuity and good motor coordination.Ability to perform physical and repetitive work.Be rigorous and have an eye for detail.Be dynamic, motivated and proactive.Have a sense of urgency and flexibility.
