A leading forestry management company is seeking an experienced Forestry Project Manager to join their team. This role involves managing multi-phase timber development projects, coordinating crews, client liaison, budgeting, and mentoring.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in forestry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage projects of significant size and scope.
Location : Vernon, BC (Preferred) or Nakusp, BC
Key Responsibilities :
- Supervise field and office operations, including road and boundary layout, data entry, and quality control.
- Train and mentor team members, fostering professional growth.
- Meet with clients to ensure project goals and expectations are met.
- Manage purchase orders, budgeting, invoicing, and coordination with other project managers.
- Oversee safety within the field, report incidents, and delegate roles accordingly.
- Assist with business development through proposal requests and invitations to tender.
Qualifications :
- Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or Registered Forest Technologist (RFT) designation (or eligible).
- 5+ years of experience managing multi-phase timber development contracts.
- Experience with tactical development, total chance, and / or total resource planning.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS and LIDAR product creation / manipulation.
- Strong understanding of BC's forest legislation, regulations, and harvesting systems.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and legally allowed to work in Canada.
