What You'll Do
You’ll play a key role in supporting clients through the full accounting cycle, tax preparation, and compliance process.
Your Primary Duties Will Include
- Compiling and analyzing financial information to prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.
- Preparing Compilation Engagements for various business entities.
- Drafting and reviewing management financial statements and related notes.
- Reconciling sub-accounts to control accounts to ensure accuracy and data integrity.
- Preparing reports and financial summaries as requested by clients.
- Gathering and verifying financial data for corporate and personal tax returns.
- Preparing and filing corporate and personal tax returns, along with required working papers.
- Meeting directly with clients to discuss financial statements and resolve tax or accounting queries.
- Ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations, maintaining integrity and accuracy of financial data.
- Assisting managers and partners with tax planning and addressing complex tax matters.
Other Responsibilities
Support colleagues by answering technical or procedural questions when needed.Contribute to engagement planning and documentation (e.g., confirmations, engagement letters, trial balances).Assist in all phases of engagements, including report drafting and review.Perform additional related duties as assigned by managers and partners.What You’ll Bring
Post‑secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA designation or working toward one is an asset).Proven experience in a public accounting firm, preferably in compilation and tax preparation.Proficiency with accounting and tax software (e.g., CaseWare, TaxPrep, QuickBooks, Excel).Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Commitment to professional growth and continuous learning.Why Join Our Client
