Chard Development Ltd. ( Chard ) is an award-winning real estate development firm based in British Columbia, specializing in urban real estate projects in Metro Vancouver and Greater Victoria.

Since 2006, Chard has delivered close to 1,600 homes to the people of BC, including market and below-market purpose-built rental developments, attainable homeownership opportunities and market condos with more than 3,000 more in the development and / or planning phase.

The company has been awarded the Provincial Award for Excellence in Housing Affordability and recognized by the Urban Development Institute with awards for Best Purpose-Built Market Rental (High Rise) and Best Non-Market Housing.

They were also the first to bring strata office and light industrial space to Mount Pleasant and have more than 265,000 sq ft of commercial development in the pipeline, along with two hotel developments.

Chard continues to diversify both geographically and in terms of product offering through strategic partnerships and out-of-the-box creativity, and to seek opportunities for vertical integration.

In 2023, the company established Chard Property Group to provide property and asset management services to their growing portfolio of income producing properties.

To date, three Chard properties have transitioned to CPG. Over the coming years, CPG will seek to provide management services to third-party property owners whose assets align with Chard’s strategic value-add approach and expertise.

As part of Chard’s growth and evolution, the position of Director, Technology has been created. Reporting to the COO, the Director will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company's technology strategy and have the unique opportunity to build and define the company's IT function and support the identification, implementation and management of the applications and systems needed to Chard's business objectives.

This role requires a blend of strategic vision, technology insight and business expertise as the Director will provide direction and oversight over IT operations, that is currently managed through an external vendor, as well lead the technology planning and innovation that seeks to position Chard as the leader in the development and rental space - creating a world-class consumer experience for its customers and tenants.

The ideal candidate will bring a track record of success as a technology leader with generalist IT experience having worked in or supported dynamic, team-oriented organizations experiencing tremendous growth and change.

They will have demonstrated an ability to partner with the business in identifying, developing and implementing technology solutions to help reach business goals and objectives.

Experience working in a strong customer / client service environment, such as retail, hospitality or property management would be an asset.

In accordance with BC’s Pay Transparency Act, the expected base salary range for this role is $140,000 - $160,000.
