The Challenge :

Reporting to the Technical Manager the Technical Representatives mission is to offer the best packaging solutions to customers and optimize their properties and overall performance to help achieve company sales and revenue objectives. This is achieved by supporting clients unique needs by offering innovative packaging product designs automation & standardisation solutions and cost saving opportunities tailored to their situation.

Must be available for travel within Canada and the United States 50% of working time as part of the role .

Education : Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Design Technology or equivalent.

Experience : years in a client focused engineering technology representative role or similar; Experience in automation mechatronics and project management a strong asset.

Technical : ERP and CRM systems Tappi & ISO standards knowledge functional understanding of packaging machinery & equipment and corrugated systems; experience with BHS OS (iCorr CCC MCC) Escada Temperature Control Systems Corrugation and Conversion Equipment Knowledge a strong asset.

Skills : Proactive and self-motivated with a strong client focused mindset problem-solving skills and innovative solution generation excellent communicator with the ability to explain difficult technical concepts and a track record of meeting client needs exceptional rigour and attention to detail.

Your challenge!

Reporting to the Technical Manager the Technical Representatives mission is to offer the best packaging solutions to customers and optimize their properties and overall performance in order to help achieve the companys sales and revenue objectives. You must provide support to our Sales team and customers to achieve solutions related to innovative packaging product designs automation cost saving and standardization that would be better adapted to customers activities and needs. You thus work with customers operations and sales team during a specific mandate to develop high-quality packaging solutions and customer service that directly impact the groups sales and profitability.

Individual responsibilities

Accountable

Provide support and packaging optimization services to our customers

Demonstrate ownership and the ability to follow through on commitments made to our customers

Facilitate issue resolution through on or off site problem-solving with customers

Responsible

Collaborate with customers to improve existing packaging materials and techniques and propose any necessary adjustments to equipment setup

Develop new packaging materials and / or concepts

Maintain excellent client relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction

Ensure the performance of new products for key customers and provide all the necessary support to the Sales team regarding the technical approach

Support customer in automation packaging

Propose cost saving solutions and margin gain

Experiences and strengths

DEC (college diploma) in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Design Technology or equivalent

5 to 10 years experience in a similar position

Comprehensive knowledge of market and manufacturing processes to improve product / solution design and efficiency

Innovative mindset and high level of creativity

Ability to carry out a number of projects simultaneously while respecting deadlines and priorities

Ability to proactively address issues and problems by proposing solutions

Customer focus with the ability to identify challenges needs issues interests and potential to present new solutions and products in collaboration with Rand D Marketing and Innovation

Strong technical experience; self-motivated to learn and expand product and technical skills

People oriented and ability to communicate effectively

Exceptionalrigourand attention to detail

Proficiency indesign software

Proficiency in French and English
