Manager, Clinical Learning Resource Centre, USask Health Sciences
Primary Purpose : The Manager of the Clinical Learning Resource Centre (CLRC) facilitates the integration of simulation and inter-professional learning opportunities into the educational process of University of Saskatchewan (USask) health science students’ clinical learning. This position assists in developing and overseeing the implementation of various programs and USask Health Sciences strategic initiatives, and manages staff and the day-to-day operations of learning activities within the CLRC.
Nature of Work : Reporting to the Associate Director, the Manager is responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of the CLRC, working collaboratively with the other CLRC Manager with a primary focus on supporting Health Sciences clinical skills curricula. This role includes supervision of CLRC staff and oversight of all simulated learning activities within the Manager’s designated areas. The Manager is expected to ensure the unit operates smoothly and efficiently, delivering exceptional service to all partners.
This complex and dynamic position requires strong relationship‑building skills and effective collaboration with a wide range of faculty, staff, committees, colleges, units, and external partners. The Manager will contribute to the development and implementation of experiential learning activities that incorporate experiential learning pedagogies, simulation technologies, and evidence‑based methodologies. Because the role involves handling sensitive and confidential information, discretion and sound judgment are essential.
The work environment is fast‑paced and demanding, with frequent interruptions, shifting priorities, tight deadlines, and multiple concurrent issues requiring attention. The position also involves light to moderate physical tasks. This is a full‑time role that may require flexible hours, including occasional evening and weekend work, and calls for creative thinking, innovative problem‑solving, and a strong commitment to delivering an exceptional student experience.

Education : A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field is preferred. Certifications and / or post graduate degrees in leadership and / or administration would be an asset. The University of Saskatchewan recognizes alternate career paths; therefore, a combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience : Minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment. Demonstrated competency (three to five years) in adult immersive teaching‑learning approaches or other experiential education methods. Experience with program development, performance evaluation, human resources and financial management, policy and procedure development, and team building are essential.
Skills : Performance competencies include leadership and vision, support for progress and change, relationship building, communication, results orientation, and personal effectiveness; demonstrated strengths in strategic program development and management : planning, implementing, promoting, and evaluating programs; experience in and a commitment to interprofessional education in the health sciences; the ability to work collaboratively and foster interprofessional relationships; an understanding of healthcare practice and how to integrate best‑practice teaching and learning strategies into a simulated healthcare environment; strong human resource management skills; sound decision‑making skills; the ability to work independently while demonstrating initiative, flexibility, creativity, and innovation.
