About the Opportunity
The department of Child and Adolescent Mental Health in Sydney is seeking a full-time child and adolescent psychiatrist to work in collaboration with other clinical teams in Cape Breton.
The successful candidate will be able to participate in teaching through the family medicine residency program based in Sydney and / or with medical students through Dalhousie University.
CBRH opened its door to patients in . Now, it is the second largest acute care facility in Nova Scotia that serves more than , patients a year.
It is part of a four-hospital complex that also includes Glace Bay, New Waterford Consolidated, and Northside General Hospitals.
Located in the historic town of Sydney, CBRH has acute care beds, 36 emergency beds, 23 intermediate and critical care beds, 40 maternal child beds, 52 mental health and addiction beds, and nine palliative care beds.
The hospital provides a range of primary and secondary services through in-patient, outpatient, and community-based programs.

Responsibilities
- provide care to outpatient clinic for patients under the age of 18
- participate in program development, like the behaviour disorders and early psychosis intensive program
- offer consultations to other physicians and rural clinics
- contribute to and participate in teaching programs and activities
- contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications
- all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the (CPSNS)
- all specialists must be eligible for certification with the (RCPSC)
- membership with the (CMPA)
