Research Coordinator
Department of Community Health Sciences, Cumming School of Medicine.
Full‑time Fixed Term position for approximately 12 months (based on grant funding), with possible extension. Reporting to the Principal Investigator.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination
- Collaborates on design, preparation and presentation of study materials including study protocols, procedure manuals, SOPs, informed consent documents and study reports
- Works with project staff and stakeholders to implement and disseminate project communications, presentations, publications and research findings
- Assists with writing project reports, technical research reports, and status reports
- Sets up and manages project meetings (including taking minutes, preparing meeting documentation and creating project presentations)
- Liaises and communicates with key stakeholder groups to promote awareness of the project
- Maintains accurate, timely, complete documentation and records
- Ensures projects adhere to ethical and privacy requirements
- Manages research protocols in preparation for IRB submission and prepares submissions to applicable ethics boards
- Maintains ongoing ethics renewals, communication, and reporting
- Works with appropriate staff and University departments to assist researchers in setting up contracts / agreements for external vendors, persons of interest, and contractors in compliance with University policies
- Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of the position
Research Implementation, Conduct, Reporting, Evaluation
Implements study protocol, monitors study activity and updates investigators as appropriateManages, monitors, and reports on project timelines, milestones and deliverablesEnsures that all research related activities are carried out in accordance with the established protocol and standards in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and policiesOrganizes quantitative research (ie : descriptive analyses) inclusive of planning, moderating, facilitating, collecting and sorting information, entering data, and data analysis. For more complex analyses, works with a statistical analyst to achieve study objectivesOversees the administration of the study (e.g. paying invoices, sourcing vendors, etc.)Assists with the development of materials, and supporting resources for the implementation and evaluation of the research activitiesQualifications / Requirements
Minimum of a Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Community Health Sciences, Health Policy, Public Policy, Public Health, Economics)Quantitative research experience is strongly preferred : including use of administrative data, data preparation, basic statistical analyses (preference for those who have used R, SAS, or STATA Data Analysis Software)Strong knowledge of standard Office software applications (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneDrive)Experience with academic reporting and presentation development is requiredExceptional interpersonal skills and ability to handle difficult situations in an objective consistent mannerDemonstrated proficiency in budgeting, resource planning, and grant applicationsDemonstrated ability in professional writing, preparing reports and conducting literature reviews for the purpose of presentation and publicationAble to work both independently and within a teamStrong critical thinking and problem‑solving skillsEffective communication and interpersonal skillsDesire to learn and expand knowledgeComfortable learning and using project management tools, including Microsoft OneDrive and TeamsComfortable working with a diverse and geographically dispersed group of collaboratorsKnowledge of University policies and procedures an assetApplication Deadline : January 26, 2026.
