Job Description

CEDA is currently seeking a Hydro Vac Operator for our Nanticoke, Ontario location. Depending on our client’s request there could also be opportunities to operate other equipment outside of our industrial cleaning equipment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities :

• Operate and maintain vacuum trucks, high pressure / water trucks, combo units, other equipment as required and various specialty tools
• 90% of your day is outside of the truck, boots on the ground!
• Work safely at heights up to 100 meters in a labor intensive capacity
• Climb safely into small vessels and tanks with industrial cleaning equipment our experienced crew has your back
• Ensure safety for all team members and property
• Work as part of a team and follow direction from supervision
• Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
• Learn new skills every day by rigging in and out specialty equipment
• Complete required paperwork for unit pre-trip, inspections, job reports and safety documents
• Challenge your eye for detail, practice what we preach. Take your time, get the job done right the first time and safely every time
• Provide guidance to Laborers as required
• Strictly observe and enforce all company and client safety requirements

Qualifications :

• Valid Class DZ licence with no more than 5 demerits in the last 3 years is required
• Driving is in your nature, a manual transmission is a breeze (10, 13 speed, doesn’t matter you will pass CEDA’s driver assessment with flying colours)
• Experience with Fluid Hauling, Vacuum and High Pressure experience in an industrial environment is an asset
• Experience in an industrial environment is an asset
• Exposure / familiarity with Imperial Oil’s loss prevention system is an asset
• Able to provide a negative result on a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Able to travel throughout Region, and be available for on call (flexibility in scheduling is required)
• Reliable transportation to site is required

Skills :

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Very comfortable with manual transmissions
• Safety focused when it comes to people and equipment
• Perform physically demanding work including climbing multiple flights of stairs and carrying equipment (able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis)
• Comfortable with the use of additional respiratory equipment and air supply; wearing a full face mask and carrying your own source of oxygen
• Enjoy working outdoors the majority of the time in varied weather conditions
