JOB REQUIREMENTS : Job Summary : The successful candidate for theassistant director of bands will serve alongside the band faculty toteach, oversee, and help guide the University of Wisconsin Band programin the Mead Witter School of Music (MWSoM).
They will assist withaspects in both the athletic band and concert band programs, in additionto classroom teaching within the MWSoM.
They will join a faculty ofartists and scholars who are on the leading edge of performancestandards and research. Since its beginning in 1895, the School ofMusic, renamed the Mead Witter School of Music in 2016, has lived out acommitment to a rigorous, student-centered musical education.

Principalduties : Instruction : 1. Teach one semester long undergraduate conductingcourse for performance majors. 2. Teach the "Marching Band Techniques "course.
3. Conduct regular office hours. Band Conducting : 1. Conduct aprimary pep band. 2. Conduct one of the non-major University Bands.
3.Additional conducting opportunities with the Mead Witter School of MusicConcert Band and Wind Ensemble as needed and appropriate.
Administration : 1. Assist the Director of Athletic Bands withinstruction and administrative tasks of the UW Marching and AthleticBands.
2. Write drills and / or arrangements for the UW Athletic Bands. 3.Serve on MWSoM committees as needed. Other Duties as Assigned : 1.
Workclosely with the UW Athletic Department. 2. Assist within the overallscope of the UW Madison Band program. 3. Collaborate.
